What Are Essential Oils For Vaporizers?

Let’s get down and to it! What are essential oils for vaporizers? Pardon me, but wait just a minute…you can vape essential oils? You’ve read that correctly dear reader. The futures upon us once again and we now are vaping our essential oils. Forget aromatherapy, lets do inhale-a-therapy! (Not a real slogan! lol)

How Do I Vape Essential Oils?

The first and foremost important fact regarding vaping essential oils to bear in mind is the use of a carrier agent. Vapers attempting to fill their tanks with solely essential oils won’t have a pleasant experience. The addition of either Propylene Glycol or Vegetable Glycerin (or both!) is crucial for an enjoyable and therapeutic vaping experience. The amount ratio of PG/VG will all depend on the user. Some prefer a 50/50 mix, a 70/30 mix or even a 100% PG/VG base. Ultimately though, purchasing a quality professionally made essential oil for vaporizers is the optimal choice.

I’ve had the pleasure of vaping essential oils thanks to Dosha Breathables. Dosha seamlessly blends organic essential oils with pharmaceutical grade PG/VG in 6 unique blends. Each one uniquely blended for a specific ailment, such as “Sleep”, “Focus”, “Relax” and “Happy”. While it is possible to blend your own essential oils for vaporizers, it’s best to leave that to experts if you are unsure what to do!

When vaping essential oils, it’s crucial to watch the heat setting. Too high of heat and the oil will burn, resulting in any positive benefits to be neutralized. In other words, the benefits can no longer be enjoyed. Now if the heat is not set high enough, then no vapour can be produced. It may take some adjusting even some trial and error before finding the ideal temperature to vape essential oils with the mod you’re using. It’s suggested to start at a lower temperature and work your way up as to not burn the oil which will ultimately effect the aromatherapy experience.

What Oils Vape The Best?

Of course not every essential oil is made equally. Some are produced in anon-hygienic environment, are mass produced overseas and extracted poorly. Whereas other essential oils are produced in an organic, ethical manner right here in North America! Now the price difference between these two different types of oils will vary drastically. But it’s so important to note choose cheap products, especially if you plan on inhaling said products! That being said, some of the best oils to vape include:

  • Grapefruit Oil
  • Peppermint Oil
  • Lavender Oil
  • Tea Tree Oil
  • Camphor Oil
  • Eucalyptus Oil
  • Rosemary Oil
  • Chamomile Oil
  • Sweet Orange Oil
  • Ginger Oil
  • Lime Oil
  • Clove Oil

Tips For Vaping Essential Oils

Should you decide to add your own essential oils to your vaporizer, start slow. The concentration of each oil varies, so while one oil may require only 2-3 drops to get a decent draw, another may require a dozen drops. Start with adding a couple drops and then gradually increase until you receive a satisfying draw. As stated previously, keep a watchful eye on the temperature setting. Too high heat and the oil will burn and not enough heat, the oil will not vaporize. Additionally, avoid taking huge hits. Slow, shallow draws are the optimal choice when vaping essential oils as huge draws can irritate the respiratory system. Secondly, the additional heat may cause the the vapor to turn to smoke which is not desirable.
